History

The roots of oxygen therapy trace back to the early 20th century, when scientists began experimenting with oxygen-enriched environments to treat decompression sickness in divers and support healing for patients with chronic wounds. Over time, this therapy—known as hyperbaric oxygen therapy—expanded into clinical settings, where it became a recognized treatment for conditions like carbon monoxide poisoning, radiation injuries, and non-healing diabetic wounds.

Today, oxygen therapy is embraced for its ability to increase oxygen saturation in the bloodstream, allowing cells to generate more energy (ATP), repair more efficiently, and reduce oxidative stress. This makes it particularly effective for:

  • Athletic recovery – reducing inflammation and muscle soreness while speeding up repair

  • Cognitive clarity – supporting brain oxygenation for improved focus and mental sharpness

  • Stress relief and relaxation – calming the nervous system in a heat-free, soothing environment

  • Immune support – enhancing the body’s resilience and ability to heal
