Recommended Session Length: 10-20 minutes
Settle into the gentle glow of our Red Light Therapy Lounge—a space where low-level red and near-infrared light envelops you in therapeutic warmth. This targeted illumination penetrates deeply into the skin, activating mitochondria to boost cellular energy, enhance tissue repair, and reduce inflammation—without harsh heat or UV exposure. The result is a renewing experience that supports skin rejuvenation, soothes sore muscles, and invites mental clarity.
History
The roots of light therapy trace back centuries to ancient cultures that revered sunlight for its healing power. In modern medicine, Danish physician Niels Finsen pioneered early applications of light therapy in the late 19th century, earning a Nobel Prize in 1903 for treating skin conditions such as smallpox lesions using concentrated light. In the 1960s, NASA advanced the field by discovering that red and near-infrared light could accelerate wound healing in astronauts and cellular cultures—a breakthrough that paved the way for therapeutic lighting technologies.
Red light therapy—also known as photobiomodulation—works at the cellular level by energizing mitochondria to increase ATP production, thus helping cells repair, regenerate, and function more efficiently.
